Features and Benefits:
Future-Proof and Ready for Tomorrow's Technological Challenges:
Charge Amps Aura is prepared for ISO 15118, opening up a range of possibilities when tomorrow's electric cars start supporting vehicle-to-grid technology. In the future, the car will not only be a means of transport but also function as an energy storage, and for this, a charging station that enables this technology is needed.
Adapted for Various Conditions:
When Charge Amps Aura is connected to Charge Amps Cloud, you have full control over the charger and its functions such as load balancing and scheduling. In the cloud, you find the history for reporting and statistics.
Just as when you update your mobile phone, we send out over-the-air updates to ensure that the charging station always has the latest software with all the features.
Of course, Charge Amps Aura can also be connected to cloud services compatible with OCPP so that you can manage multiple functions yourself. This can be scheduling, load balancing, and adding payment functions.
The Difference Between CAPI and OCPP
CAPI:
A CAPI charger can be connected to two cloud services simultaneously. A CAPI charger lacks direct support for OCPP. Instead, an external service can communicate with the CAPI charger by using the OCPP connection via the Charge Amps cloud service. Charge Amps cloud acts as a translator and handles the OCPP messages to communicate with the charger.
The advantage of CAPI is that one can use their own backend to control a charger, have an overview, administer, and at the same time utilize the smart functions in Charge Amps cloud service.
Note that "Capi" (Chargeamp Proxy API) can be reconfigured to OCPP.
OCPP:
An OCPP charger, for example, is connected either to the Charge Amps cloud service or an external cloud service. Charge Amps OCPP charger has OCPP directly in the charger. If you have an OCPP charger connected to an external party, then only Charge Amps provides the hardware, i.e., the charger, all functions such as cloud service, load balancing, support, control, and RFID, etc., are managed via the external party and not via the Charge Amps cloud service.
Partner Account with Charge Amps:
Remember that as an installer, you need to get a Partner Account to be able to install, configure, and best manage Charge Amps' various products. All more advanced settings, such as setting up and configuring load balancing, require such a Partner Account.
How do you get a Partner Account? Visit the Charge Amps Help Center and submit a request by selecting the "Partner Account" option in their support form – link.
